I have always loved to stretch, and studied dance and movement from the time I was a child. While in college I met my first yoga teacher, a man in his 80s who taught me that I am only as old as my spine. He sent me to the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, where I lived after college, working in the kitchen and practicing meditation and yoga. In the twenty years since, I have trained in yoga and pranayama in the Iyengar tradition, and have studied and practiced art therapy, movement therapy, massage therapy, Buddhist meditation, Body/Mind Centering, Continuum, and Taoist breathwork. I have been especially inspired by Angela Farmer, Vanda Scaravelli, Donna Fahri, Lillah Schwartz, and Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, and have taught yoga and breathwork since 1999.

My personal practice took root when I discovered restorative yoga, and subsequently spent six months of practice dedicated to consciously resting and exploring states of meditation. In my current practice, I continually return to rest, being with and in the heart. Discovering the union existing right Now, and how we humans constantly interfere with and cloud this deep knowing, is the central focus of my personal and professional work.
