Cheryl Diegel has been studying yoga since 1998. Her first exposure into yoga was Iyengar, an alignment-based style of hatha yoga. She continues to have a deep respect for the discipline, strength, and power of this practice. Early on in this journey she became aware of the immense depth of yoga as a practice and a lifestyle choice. She has continued to study over the years with numerous teachers in workshops and teacher trainings. Some of the list includes Aadil Palkhivala, Ganga White, Erich Schiffmann, Donna Farhi, Shiva Rea, and Angela Farmer and Victor van Kooten. The diversity of their knowledge has set her on a path of discovery that led to EmbodiYoga™ and to her most inspired teachers and mentors, David Beadle, Lisa Clark, and Patty Townsend. What has evolved in her practice and her teaching is a fully embodied approach to the journey into authentic self. Her yoga teaches that freedom of movement and organic exploration into the body’s deeper layers of kinesthetic awareness can bring us closer to wholeness in our practice and our lives. Her classes are gently challenging, explorative, and designed to help one discover and meet their own inner selves. Cheryl is currently certified at the 500 hr. level of EmbodiYoga™. She continues to read, practice, and grab every opportunity to further her education and deepen her experience of yoga. Here are some links to points of interest: Cheryl has recently found the wonderful benefits of deep rest through meditation in the teachings and retreats of Open Dharma. This organization offers retreats locally once a year as well as in India and Spain. For more information, go to www.opendharma.org. Annual Teacher Trainings in EmbodiYoga™ are held locally from September through May, taught by Lisa Clark and David Beadle. For more information, visit www.yogabodymindspirit.com.
