Path: While an undergraduate at UNC, I started teaching fitness classes to faculty and staff, and soon learned of my passion for sharing fitness with everyone. After trying a few Pilates mat classes, I quickly noticed its benefits to my body. More importantly, I appreciated the fact that everyone can do it! After starting with a quick, introductory certification, I became serious about the discipline and became fully certified with the Power Pilates Comprehensive program, for mat classes and all Pilates equipment.

Inspiration: I truly enjoy watching others improve their bodies, confidence and mood through movement. It inspires me to become a more knowledgeable instructor.

Favorites for grounding:
When I’m not teaching or doing Pilates, I am running or working out in the gym. Exercise is truly my release. And as a great compliment, I love to eat, sleep and eat some more!

Practice: Pilates works to improve my “Powerhouse,” or core muscles, which has helped my posture, strength and flexibility. It has made me a better runner and has helped decrease my chances of getting injured. Not to mention, I feel taller and leaner.

Intention: I intend to make everyone feel confident in their ability to perform the exercises, feel challenged through the movement and have a good time doing it!
