Prenatal Programs

We have long offered a fantastic prenatal program under the guidance of the terrific Paula Huffman. This program encompasses two prenatal yoga classes each week, Mondays at 10:30 a.m., and Wednesdays at 5:45 p.m. The Wednesday class starts with time for Q&A at 5:30. In prenatal yoga, you'll focus on poses and breath exercises to keep you comfortable during pregnancy, labor, and delivery. It's a great opportunity for connection—connection with your growing baby, as well as connection with a community of expectant mothers. Here's a peek inside the prenatal yoga classroom:

Running in cycles throughout the year, we also offer Prepared Childbirth Education on Sunday afternoons. In this series class ($150/couple), mothers and their partners will learn about the anatomy of labor and delivery, explore various birth options, and find ways to be present through the exciting experience of labor and delivery. Topics are based on fact and presented with humor and active participation. Guest speakers, videos, handouts, and reading references will give you the best information from a wide array of sources.

These classes are right for everyone, regardless of the type of birth experience you are hoping for or where you choose to deliver. Weekly topics include anatomy and physiology of labor, coping techniques approached from many different philosophies, partner roles, variations and complications, medical technology and pain relief, and much more. Each class includes breath, relaxation, and mobility practice with an incorporation of mindfulness techniques as developed by Jon-Kabat Zinn. Come and make smart, informed decisions to maximize your birth and postpartum experience.
