Practiced
mindfully, yoga can help you avoid injury by fostering a greater awareness
of and respect for your limits. Its nonviolent, nonjudgmental approach
provides a wonderful counterpoint to competition. Everyone is welcome,
regardless of sport, level of
fitness, or yoga experience.
We assume you're pretty strong but maybe not too flexible, so we begin
with heat-generating flows incorporating standing and balance poses,
work on core strength, then move to the floor for hip openers. All
along the way we focus on the breath. Extra attention is given to
yoga philosophy as applies to endurance sports training and racing,
and to yoga asanas that can become part of your home practice and
training.

forthcoming DVD, and her podcast of short post-workout stretches.
