Audrey Hill
Path: I started taking yoga in college, but it wasn't until I moved to Washington, DC, in 2002, that I began to practice regularly. For several years, I took vinyasa flow classes and honed my physical practice. Gradually, I started incorporating more mental aspects of yoga into my practice. In 2007, I completed a 200-hour interdisciplinary teacher training program in Costa Rica. I did not enter the program intending to teach, but left it hoping to continue both as a student and a teacher.

Upon my return, I started teaching vinyasa at a studio in Washington, DC, which featured a diverse mix of students of all ages and athletic abilities. While intimidating at first, I grew to love watching students progress within classes. I was also lucky that this studio taught Kundalini yoga, and began to incorporate those classes into my practice. Since moving to Carrboro, I've enjoyed the chance to dabble in Anusara, Ashtanga, and Pilates' classes.

Inspiration: All the teachers at Inspired Yoga, Don and Amba Stapleton of Nosara Yoga Instiute, and Yoga House. I particularly love a great music mix and pranayama.

Intention: I hope to continue to grow as a student and teacher, particularly in learning to incorporate aspects of yoga into my daily life. As a teacher, I hope my students sweat, reflect, and learn to love those moments of stillness within an asana practice. I hope to impart to students a focus on breathwork above and beyond physical poses.
