Yoga is an ancient system of physical poses, breath exercises, and meditative approaches designed to foster union, a sense of connection. As a benefit of practicing yoga, you'll feel more relaxed, be stronger, have better posture, and learn tools to cope with stress of any kind.

Our classes range from the very gentle to the very rigorous, covering everything in between. Some classes contain meditation and brief, optional periods of chanting. All classes will teach you how to breathe better. If you have questions about class content, visit Finding the Right Class, call the studio, or e-mail us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. A few tips:

  • Wear clothing that is comfortable to move in. In poses where your head is low, baggy clothing can move around a lot, so consider choosing something fitted. This allows your instructor to check that you are practicing with safe alignment.

  • We practice in our bare feet, but you may want to bring socks if you get chilly during relaxation.

  • While we have all the props you might need, if you have a towel or a mat of your own, you might like to bring them.

  • As with any exercise class, try not to eat at least an hour before class, or eat very lightly.

  • Please avoid perfumes, colognes, and cigarette smoke to be considerate of your classmates who may have allergies.

  • The studios are a cell-phone-free zone for everyone's peace of mind.

  • Come a few minutes early to your first class so we can get you set up and settled in.

  • If you are late, it is best to wait until the class begins movement before you enter the room. It can be disturbing to others who are in meditation.
